Matthew 6:8-10 "Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE IN EARTH, as it is in heaven."

Jesus here, the king of the kingdom is giving us the Ecclesia very important instructions of how to pray.

NO DRAMA... NO MAGIC!

He started by instructing us not to pray like the world, not to pray sensual prayers, and not to think that God is moved by our antics and theatrics in prayers. Since God knows what we need before we ask him then it follows that prayer is NOT informing God about our needs and trying to convince him to take notice and to act!

HE IS ALL KNOWING, HE DOESN'T NEED TO BE TOLD..

God already knows what we have need of, and he already WANTS to meet that need, in fact He already has MET that need, we just haven't experienced it. Therefore prayer is the way we come into the experience of what has been given us in Christ Jesus.

THE ANSWER EXISTS BEFORE WE PRAY.

His word is settled in heaven forever (Psalm 119:89), we have inherited all the spiritual blessing of God in Christ Jesus in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3), all these blessings exist in Christ, all the promises of God in Christ Jesus are yes and amen (meaning they exist and have the capacity to materialize) 2 Corinthians 1:20.

WHY THEN DO WE PRAY, IF THE ANSWER ALREADY EXIST?

The answer exists in the kingdom of God, in the heavenly places, it doesn't naturally exist in the earth. The answer must be transferred from the realms of the spirit into the realms of the earth, the answer needs to be accessed by faith through the protocol of prayers.

PRAYER IS ASKING, SEEKING AND KNOCKING.... ACCORDING TO HIS WILL

Jesus says to ask seek and knock, and he assures there would be answer to all those who do. (Matthew 7:7) Jesus says we should confidently ask the father any thing in his name and it shall be done unto us (the Proviso = if we abide in him and his words abide in us) John 15:7. We also have the confidence and have been given the assurance that if we ask anything according to his will, he will hear us 1 John 5:14.

Never forget,

'God is only committed to doing his own will and not ours!!!'

WHY PRAYERS DON'T GET "ANSWERED"

James 4:2-4

"You desire, and do not have. You murder, and are jealous, and cannot obtain. You fight and war, yet you have not BECAUSE YOU ASK NOT."

(failure to engage in the protocol of prayers by faith according to the will of God)

"...You ask and receive not, because YOU ASK AMISS, that you may spend it upon your lusts."

(A desire to use the prayer protocol by faith to fulfill a will that is not Godly)

"...Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that the FRIENDSHIP OF THE WORLD is enmity with God? Therefore whoever desires to be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."

(A desire to use prayer to fulfill the enemies plan against the kingdom of heaven e.g infiltration through sin, error and lust)

THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE IN EARTH

In conclusion, the whole purpose of prayer is to bring the kingdom of God into manifestation by causing his will to be done.

Prayer is done by the citizens of Gods kingdom, and they call on God to do his work 'in earth' (which is in man, as man is made from the dust of the earth), God always has to work 'in man' first before he can work 'through man' to fulfill his will and establish his kingdom.

So your first prayer should be, Lord let your kingdom come, let your will be done IN ME (earth) as it is in heaven. Let me know and experience your will to a point where I can extend it to my immediate surroundings (world)

I hope this would encourage your prayer life!

yours
