QUESTION: "My aunt tells me to be a real worshipper not just in church, does that mean just singing?"

Pastor's response...

ANSWER: "WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A REAL WORSHIPPER Jesus said John 4:23-24(KJV) But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. From Jesus statement we see that only spirit generated worship counts as worship before God, and it was important that people worship him in truth (this means they are really worshipping from their hearts and the worship is acceptable to him and according to his requirements) Jesus did not for once imply in this verse that worship is a song! WHAT THEN IS WORSHIP IF NOT A SONG? Paul said Romans 12:1 (BBE) ?For this reason I make request to you, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you will give your bodies as a living offering, holy, pleasing to God, which is the worship it is right for you to give him. From Apostle Paul's statement we see that worship is the presenting of your bodies as a holy (consecrated) acceptable offering for his service. This means that you are living each day for Gods purposes alone! This is what true worship is! Worship is therefore not a song or sound of music, worship is living your life deliberately to please him and glorify him in the earth, that is your 'reasonable' worship (reasonable because it is expected of us, it is all we can afford to give him but the very least he deserves after all he has done for us) This doesn't mean we cannot sing to him, but our songs have more meaning when our lives are lived for him, when you sing to him when your life is not lived for him, it is a horrible stench of selfishness that he gets."
