QUESTION: "How do I go about finding a right mentor that can really help me in my walk with God? Is it possible to have a good walk with God without a mentor?"

Pastor's response...

ANSWER: "HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT MENTORS 1. Know what you need to be, have an image of where you know God wants you to be with respect to your walk with him, without the knowledge of the end, it will be hard to know who can help you get there! 2. Pray to God about it (Matthew 7:7) ask him to guide your choice and to send people to you who can assist your walk in him and help build you up. 3. Know what you need from them based on Gods word ( a good hint, pray and look for a mentor that will focus on your spiritual development and building of Godly character) 4. Know what a mentor is and make sure they are able and available to help you (a mentor is someone who has been where you want to be before and is willing to help you get there, so it is important that your mentor has the required experience and maturity to guide you into the desired end) IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE A GOOD WALK WITH GOD WITHOUT A MENTOR? ... It Would be HARD! Without a mentor(s) to help you, your growth will be slow, unsteady and ineffective, the result will be the same with ineffective mentoring, but Good mentoring makes a great difference! You can have mentors for different areas of your life I.e you could have people to mentor you spiritually (prayer, doctrine, character) or in other areas like career e.t.c Living without the help of mentors is like trying to drive a car without an instructor, I pray you find good mentors, this is why I alway propose every believer exists within "crosser systems" where you can all help one another to grow."
