QUESTION: "What is the difference between laboUrers and volunteers in the kingdom of God?"

Pastor's response...

ANSWER: "Most of us children of the kingdom engage the business of the kingdom as volunteers and not as labourers A volunteer for a cause, gives of his/her SPARE time and resources to help out. Most times they are not fully skilled up, nor available to accomplish the work required, neither the organization able to make demands on them as they would a paid staff (laborer) who is skilled, and committed fully to the business of the company. A laborer however is SKILLED, COMMITTED , and ACCOUNTABLE LABOUR a volunteer (skilled or unskilled) isn't committed, but is involved, and a volunteers accountability and responsibility is always minimal. The business of the kingdom is a full time role. We are FULL TIME believers. We should study to make ourselves approved unto God(skill) And should be prepared and ready to engage every Good work daily, for the kingdoms sake, under the leadership of the spirit. Since we do not JUST belong to a CHURCH(EKKLESIA), but, are THE EKKLESIA ourselves. It means that God expects EKKLESIA (the Kingdom) to Happen everyday! By Church/EKKLESIA, I do not mean church service! I mean the matters and business of the kingdom in EXPRESSION through us, such as ...salvations, ministrations, deliverance, healing, prayers, fasting, giving, fellowship, exhortation, heart felt worship, following sound doctrine, loving the brethren, e.t.c If you look on the list above, in the whole body of Christ, only a few of us see the need to engage it full time, most of us are either not competent, confident or committed to doing it on a daily basis! Consider this... Over 80% of believers do not even know how to lead another soul to Christ, Very few Christian can lead another in the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Very few Christians know sound doctrine not can they teach or disciple another Christian effectively. Because of our deficiency in training and knowledge,We mostly pray amiss, we worship amiss, we don't treat each other well enough, we hardly have time to develop our selves in the skills relevant to developing the kingdom of God on earth... This is why I said, the harvest indeed is plenty, but there are more volunteers than labourers Because every harvest needs skilled and committed labour who 1. Can work within tight deadlines (because the harvest can spoil if not attended to in time) 2.know their work within the harvest handling process ( e.g harvesting, processing, logistics, welfare, packaging, quality control e.t.c) 3. Can work with other skilled laborers to accomplish a corporate task Let's study to show our selves approved! "
